Westchester Broadway Theatre’s “In the Heights” Features Music from Lin-Manuel Miranda

Highlighting the Washington Heights culture, flavor and music, In the Heights is an immersive experience without leaving the county.

Washington Heights is a unique enclave: It may seem like it’s part of the Bronx, but it’s actually at the tippy-top of Manhattan. And, though it feels like a separate culture all its own, it’s only 15 minutes away from Westchester on a good day. Spend three days in Washington Heights without leaving Elmsford when the Westchester Broadway Theatre presents the five-time Tony-winning musical In the Heights. The songs, written by Broadway’s newest superstar Lin-Manuel Miranda (Bring It On: The Musical), picks up the best of the neighborhood’s influences, infusing hip-hop, salsa, cha-cha, reggae, and mambo into the soundtrack. The show runs at the Westchester Broadway Theatre from February 7 to March 17.
