Sharon DeChiara, DDS, MD, a board-certified plastic surgeon, opened SpaChiara Wellness Center the week Hurricane Sandy hit—at least she tried to; when we met, she was still awaiting some of the furnishings in her roomy and welcoming space at the Saw Mill Club East. In addition to facials, massages, and reiki treatments, Dr. DeChiara has all the latest lasers for everything from skin rejuvenation to hair removal along with TruSculpt, a fat reduction and skin-tightening device; Botox; and injectables. Everything here is doctor-approved: “I wouldn’t try anything on someone’s skin that I haven’t already done on mine,” she says. Dr. DeChiara also has an operating room for small procedures like eyelifts; more extensive work can be done at Northern Westchester Hospital.
