Mamaroneck’s YogaSpark is Designed Specifically for Hot Yoga

Anti-slip flooring is just one aspect of this 2,800-square-foot yoga studio’s specially designed layout, which also includes childcare and monthly unlimited packages.

YogaSpark (One Depot Plz, Mamaroneck 914-630-4988; yoga-spark.com) opened January 1 in a totally renovated 2,800-square-foot-space equipped with anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-slip flooring designed specifically for hot yoga. “YogaSpark will offer power yoga classes in a room heated to 90 to 95 degrees,” says owner Lauren Porat. “The heat is a mechanism for a more efficient practice—you don’t have to spend so much time warming up at the beginning of class and you can get deeper into poses. We play upbeat music that makes you want to move and you leave feeling stronger, energized, and completely stretched out at the same time.”

The studio has locker rooms with four shower stalls, a retail area, and drop-in childcare (currently during morning classes only) in a brand-new playroom. Single classes start at $27, with discounts for class series and monthly unlimited packages and includes special non-slip mat towels; mat storage is free with a series purchase, and childcare is $5 per child per hour. “

We are thrilled to be a part of what can certainly be described a revitalization of Mamaroneck Avenue, with many new shops and restaurants moving in,” Porat says.
