Ask the Hair Expert

Q: Do mayonnaise masks really work? What about beer on the hair?

A: Vasken Demirjian of Vasken Demirjian Salon in Trump Tower (914-285-0800) does not recommend using food products on your hair. “Why would you put food or beer on your hair? If these things did work, Hellmann's and Miller Lite would dominate the hair industry. What is healthy for the body is also good for hair—and neither mayo nor beer are good for you. Plus the smell would be awful.”

Hi Nancy,

Thanks for the opportunity to participate in your "Ask the Hair Expert" blog. I just want to add one more thing. As I recommend not to use food or beer on your hair, I also wanted to tell everyone that there are wonderful products out there, specifically made by the hair industry for hair only, so there is no need to use anything else.
Hope my email finds you well
Regards

Vasken

PS. Please feel free to talk to Leah Loftin, my PR person, we ahve so many ideas. We also did a great photo shoot on Monday 11th, so we have some fantastic materials for you.
