The new Bacchus restaurant in SoNo offers this architectural poached pear flavoared with cinnamon and citrus.

Emma’s Ale House (68 Gedney Way, White Plains 914-683-3662), a new American comfort-food restaurant which moved into the space that once housed Sunset Grille, is open every day for lunch and dinner, offering entrées such as pepper-crusted pork chops ($24), half-roast chicken ($20), and Guinness-braised beef stew ($15). A selection of sandwiches and burgers are available, including a $20 surf-and-turf burger and lobster and Béarnaise sauce. //

Gene Lum, owner of Lum Yen in Mamaroneck, has opened Soma107 Restaurant and Lounge(107 Mamaroneck Ave, White Plains 914-682-6795), a 130-seat modern American eatery whose menu has Asian influences. Heading the kitchen is James Cawley, recently with New Rochelle’s MacMenamin’s Grill & ChefWorks. Entrées to try include the Sapporo Reserve braised short ribs ($33), the chorizo-crusted swordfish ($32), and the 10-ounce Giertz Brothers pork chop ($29). A separate bar menu at the upstairs lounge and a private chef’s table are also offered. //

If you haven’t traveled to the stylish SoNo section of Norwalk, here’s a new reason to go: the Tuscan steakhouse Bacchus (120 Washington St, South Norwalk, CT 203-855-9469). Executive Chef Raul Santander, previously of Bistro du Soleil in Norwalk, has crafted a dinner-only menu of dishes such as osso buco with risotto Milanese; paella de la casa; and rigatoni in a San Marzano tomato sauce with hot sausage and ricotta. Main dishes cost between $22 and $45 //

Don’t confuse the new Blue Asian Fusion Restaurant (15 E Main St, Mount Kisco 914-666-3688) with Blue in White Plains, Blu in Hastings, or Bleu in Greenwich. Bedford Hills resident Wayne Ye is chef/owner. The cuisine is a blend of Chinese, Japanese, and Thai. On the menu: soft-shell crab Thai-style; chicken or shrimp in mango sauce; caramelized peanut-crusted duck breast with chestnut-stuffed lychee; plus sushi, sashimi, and noodle dishes. Most entrées cost between $15 and $25. //

Apo Kilic, owner of Turkish Meze in Mamaroneck, has opened Turkish Cuisine Westchester (116 Mamaroneck Ave, White Plains 914-683-6111) with partner Vahide Meric. On the menu: chicken gyros, lamb and beef kebabs, and stuffed cabbage (entrées don’t go much above $12). Don’t miss the daily made baklava and rice pudding on the short dessert list. Open Mon through Sat for lunch and dinner. //

Andy Lin, owner of Asian Temptation in White Plains and two Mount Kisco restaurants, has opened Ginban Asian Bistro & Sushi (421 Mamaroneck Ave 914-777-8889). The pan-Asian restaurant serves lunch and dinner every day; expect an extensive list of sushi choices plus entrées such as black pepper steak, crispy ginger duck, and grilled bacon sea scallops. Most main courses cost about $20. //

Peter Chen, owner of Toyo Sushi, has opened Red Plum (251 Mamaroneck Ave, Mamaroneck 914-777-6888) in an adjacent storefront. The modern Asian menu focuses primarily on fare from China, Japan, and Thailand with a nod to India and Vietnam. Main dishes, costing from $11 to $22, include tropical mango chicken, red curry duck, and salmon teriyaki. The restaurant is open every day for lunch and dinner; delivery is available. //

Robert Ribant, who for the past decade was executive chef at Michael’s in midtown Manhattan, has replaced chef Rick Laakkonen at Antipasti (1 N Broadway, White Plains 914-949-3500). The revised dinner menu includes such dishes as veal saltimbocca with broken spaghetti, cicerchie beans, and wild rice ($29) and chicken scarpariello with luganiça sausage ($23). The lunch menu has been revamped, too, offering more affordable dishes: appetizers range from $6 to $10, salads cost $7 to $9, panini $9, and pastas $13 to $15.
