Hopscotch In Croton-On-Hudson: New American Cuisine With A Multicultural Flair

Inspiration from European, Mediterranean, and Asian cultures, all under one roof.

Mediterranean, Japanese, and French are just some of the culinary influences at Croton-on-Hudson’s Hopscotch, the New American eatery recently debuted by the same behind-the-scenes owner as Mint in Tarrytown. Kenyon Hart, previously sous chef at Harvest on Hudson, is leading the kitchen and serving creative dishes such as farfalle with toasted wheat and white chocolate; acorn squash with miso, black barley, and burrata; shortribs with plums and peanuts; and lasagna with rock shrimp, sunchokes, and sage.

Located in the space formerly occupied by Grouchy Gabe’s, the restaurant’s clean décor includes wide-plank wood floors and an open kitchen. Considering this latest opening in the village, plus existing restaurants Tagine Restaurant & wine Bar, Memphis Mae’s, Ocean House, and Ümami Café, Croton-on-Hudson has come a long way from the foodie wasteland it once was.

Hopscotch is open Tuesday to Sunday for dinner; entrées range between $20 and $38.
