I found your “Semi-Pro Kitchen” article (November 2009) very informative, but I’m disappointed that you chose to direct your readers to national chain stores to purchase the reviewed kitchen items. There are dozens of locally owned hardware stores throughout Westchester County, businesses that help define Westchester and offer unique shopping experiences. “Big Box” behemoths are rubber-stamped all over the country and lend nothing unique to the local communities.

Top Realtors

Congratulations to all the individuals mentioned in your October article (“Special Agents”) on Westchester’s top 20 realtors. However, dollar volume is just one way to recognize success. There are many successful individuals who should have been honored based on the number of closed transactions. Since many of these realtors deal with first-time homebuyers and those purchasing co-ops and condos, their dollar volume may be lower but their number of closed transactions significantly higher. Indeed, there are many other realtors working hard to serve their clients and customers who are as deserving of your recognition as the County’s Best!
