JULIET LINGERIE AND SWIMWEAR
111 E Main St, Mount Kisco (914) 218-8787, julietlingerie.com
When undergarment guru Dorothy Stein decided to close her Mount Kisco location recently, former employee Andrea Alvarez and some of her co-workers and friends decided to take the plunge and open their own lingerie boutique in the same spot. The cozy new shop covers much the same important sartorial terrain as its predecessor. You’ll find an excellent selection of bras (AA to G cup sizes) and panties from Le Mystère, Simone Perele, and Wacoal ($16+); Spanx shapewear ($30+); robes and nightgowns by Carole Hochman and Oscar de la Renta ($60-$80); and swimwear from Gottex and Miraclesuit ($99-$180). We have our eye on the Luna Luz resort-wear collection of solid brown and black dresses and separates ($60-$180). “Their clothes are easy to travel with,” says Alvarez. “It doesn’t wrinkle easily and you can dress them up or dress them down.”

This newly launched small boutique is big on casual wear—tanks, tees, sweaters, and, of course, jeans—for women, men, and teens. “We find new companies that are up and coming,” says Marissa Farda, a hairdresser who co-owns the shop with mother-and-daughter pair Diane and Stefanie Vaccaro. Denim labels ($80-$250) include Pur Jeans—check out their sexier, lower cut, wide-leg overalls ($250)—and Red Engine, Blue 2, Miss Me, and for men, Anama. Pair 'em with a Junk Food T-shirt ($30-$40) or a colorful Sugar Lips tank top ($16) and top off with a cashmere cotton blend Shae cardigan in a hot hue like dusty jade, brick, or burgundy ($114+), and you’re good to go. Also worth noting is a belt selection ($65-$150) that includes a funky yellow camouflage number sporting jeweled peace signs ($150).
