What's the Buzz? The Amazing World of Bees

Date/Time

Jul 14, 2019
10:00 AM until 01:00 PM

Description

Come discover the amazing world of bees at Audubon Center in Greenwich! Learn from special guest James Carr, a biologist and horticulture instructor, about the incredible work they do through pollination while observing our honeybee colony that is displayed in a transparent observation hive within the Hilfiger Children's Learning Center area in our main center building—a unique opportunity to see bees up close. Ray DuBois of BeeLove Apiaries will also be on hand to explain the process of honey-making and you will be able to buy some of his delicious local honey to take home!

We will also enjoy fun activities, crafts, and a nature walk. While outside, we'll investigate how native flowers, shrubs, and trees support bees and other pollinators. We'll also provide helpful tips with how you can support bees at home.
