Westchester Parks Foundation to Kick Off 5th Annual Westchester’s Winter Wonderland with Tree Lighting Celebration

Nov 23, 2018
05:00 PM until 10:00 PM

Join the Westchester Parks Foundation at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla to celebrate the opening of Westchester’s Winter Wonderland presented by Westchester Medical Center with the lighting of a 40-foot Christmas tree.

The fifth-annual event kicks-off Friday, November 23 at 5 p.m. with the official tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m., led by County Executive George Latimer and Westchester Parks Foundation Chairperson Joanne Fernandez, sponsored by Robison Oil. Westchester’s Winter Wonderland is presented for the fifth year by Westchester Medical Center, sponsored by the Westchester Parks Foundation and produced by Westchester County Parks, Recreation and Conservation. Event sponsors include Con Edison and Party Line Rentals.

As in years’ past, Westchester’s Winter Wonderland will feature an exciting array of entertainment for all ages, including its signature Santa Experience. The Winter Wonderland Holiday circus is back again, featuring acts run by Ringmaster Joe Barney who has appeared with The Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus and The Big Apple Circus. This year’s Winter Wonderland will also feature a signature Magic Show in the Dining Tent. These events all take place inside heated tents, offering visitors a chance to come in out of the cold.

For the $20 all-inclusive ticket price, guests will also enjoy ice skating on the 70-foot by 90-foot outdoor ice rink, including skate rental. All new this year, the “FUNderland Village” at Winter Wonderland will feature six thrilling rides, surrounding the Winter Wonderland Holiday Circus, in addition to favorites Winter Hay Ride, Wonderland Express, and others for a total of TEN RIDES.  This year’s “Lights of Wonder” show will feature even more lights and music, with magical displays to dazzle visitors.

The event will run from Friday, November 23 through Monday, December 31, from 5pm – 9pm Sunday-Thursday and 5pm-10pm Friday-Saturday on select dates. Check www.wwinterwonderland.com for calendar and special events.
