Jack and Jill of America, Inc – Westchester
BRONXVILLE, NY- The Westchester Chapter of Jack & Jill of America, Incorporated recently welcomed thirteen new members to the national organization that provides social, cultural and educational opportunities primarily for African-American families. Under the guidance of the Chapters First Vice President and Membership Chair, Dr. Pamela Njapa Minyard, the Membership Committee planned the formal ceremony to welcome the new members as well as bid farewell to the members who have completed their tenure. The initiation and installation ceremonies took place at the First Baptist Church of Bronxville. The celebratory dinner and dance took place at Bronxville Field Club, a country club located in Bronxville, New York and was attended by seventy-two guests.
Over the past 64 years, the mothers of the Westchester Chapter of Jack & Jill have worked to create and execute programming which parallels the aims of the National Organization while meeting the needs of their local chapter and community. With that goal in mind, the Westchester Chapter has been laser focused on promoting leadership and inspiring youth with the knowledge that they have the “Power to Make A Difference” in their community. The ceremony culminated several months of sponsors engaging the new mothers with opportunities for meeting and connecting with current chapter members and families. The new members also volunteered many hours to participate in a successful community service project as a Westchester team for the March of Dimes, a national partner of Jack & Jill of America, Inc.
“Jack and Jill of America, Inc. has been in the forefront of developing and nurturing some of the top leaders in all sectors in this nation for over 80 years.
