For centuries women have worn hats that make bold fashion statements. Rapoport will teach participants to make hats from recycled materials brought from home; buttons, cloth, feathers, etc., and construction will be centered on hand stitching, with options to embellish the surfaces. Sweaters have been kindly donated by Eileen Fisher. Rapoport, a native New Yorker, has a long history of creating accessories with recycled and found materials, and formally studied painting, textile and costume design on both the east and west coast.
