“Almost, Maine” explores love and loss in a remote, mythical -town in Maine. On a cold, clear night in the middle of winter, while the northern lights hover in the sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in the strangest ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. Love is lost, found, and confounded. And life for the people of Almost, Maine will never be the same.

Launched two years ago by the school’s renowned Stepinac Theatre, the Student Theatre Lab empowers students to star, direct and produce dramas. Prior productions were “12 Angry Men” and “Amadeus.”

Frank Portanova (Class of ’93), Stepinac Theatre Director, said: "The Student Theatre Lab concept provides students with the first-hand experience of managing and executing the complex array of activities and tasks needed in successfully mounting a theatrical production."

Since 1949, Stepinac Theatre has nurtured the talents of many students by staging more than 100 fall dramas and spring musicals and has consistently won critical claim for its productions.

Some Stepinac Theatre alumni went on to fame including Academy Award-winner actor Jon Voight and Emmy Award-winner actor Alan Alda. Others like Christian Amato (Class of '06) successfully pursued a career as a director and producer.
