Aptly named, Sideline started several years ago as an enjoyable side project to do in in the month of December, when work for bluegrass bands is in short supply. Each year, IIIrd Tyme Out banjo player Steve Dilling would assemble a group of musicians to do a series of special concerts during the holiday season. This solidified into a regular lineup and after realizing how much they enjoyed playing together during the 2011 Bluegrass Conference, Sideline cut their debut album.
Sideline plays songs you love. Some are bluegrass classics, some are destined to be classics, and all of are performed in a way that makes audiences understand why these pickers and singers are A-tier bluegrass musicians, loved and adored by fans around the world.
