Let’s face it: We’re all a little bit in love with You’ve Got Mail. What you may not know is that before it was a movie, the story of two love-struck pen pals who can’t stand each other in real life was a musical entitled She Loves Me (and before that it was a play called Parfumerie). The musical opened on Broadway in 1963, and this weekend, Caramoor Center for the Arts is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the original production with a semi-staged performance of She Loves Me, starring a retinue of award winning actors, accompanied by the Orchestra of St. Luke’s.
