The Bronxville Chamber of Commerce announces “Rodin in Bronxville,” a community-wide celebration of an exhibition of Auguste Rodin portrait sculptures this fall at OSilas Gallery at Concordia College on White Plains Rd in Bronxville. In honor of this special exhibition, which will run from September 12 through November 27, the Chamber has enlisted 43 Bronxville businesses–including restaurants, shops, services, and organizations–to participate in the festivities.
This once-in-a-lifetime exhibition—The Bronze Age: Rodin & the Methods of a Master–will offer visitors the opportunity to view Rodin bronze portrait sculptures on loan from the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Foundation. Also featured will be ten models displaying Rodin’s casting of the renowned sculpture Sorrow–on loan from the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Rarely does a suburban gallery have the chance to feature the work of such a world-renowned artist. To celebrate, participating Bronxville businesses will offer a variety of events and specials. Visitors have only a 3-minute drive from OSilas Gallery to the Bronxville business district, where they can experience first-rate restaurants with French-theme meals, stores with French merchandise, performances of French music, classes such as The Art of French Entertaining, and more.
