As part of its ongoing Raising the Next Generation series, Ethical Culture Society of Northern Westchester presents a series of events on childhood development and resilience on Sunday, January 12.

  • The 11 AM platform will feature a talk by Limarie Cabrera, Director of Data for Westchester Children's Association, "Counting What Matters: Westchester's Children Today", which will shed light on statistics related to conditions affecting children in the county, including poverty, homelessness, health issues.
  • At 2 p.m. that afternoon we'll be teaming with the Westchester Resilience Coalition, and the Briarcliff and Ossining Public Libraries to co-sponsor a screening of the 2016 film, "Resilience: The Biology of Stress & the Science of Hope", a documentary by James Redford that delves into the science of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and the birth of a new movement to treat and prevent toxic stress.
