What To Do

North Avenue Mile (run/walk race)

Jun 9, 2013
09:00 AM

The Sound Shore’s community running group, New Ro Runners, will host the first annual North Avenue mile. The North Avenue Mile is a family event, open to runners and walkers, whether you’re trying to see how fast you can sprint a mile, or just want to enjoy a morning walk on what we hope will be a beautiful day. The North Avenue Mile was conceptualized to bring the community together in support of New Rochelle’s 325th anniversary. All proceeds from the race benefit the city of New Rochelle, but registration welcomes those who live beyond the city lines as well.

The course is USTAF (the official USA Track & Field organization) certified. While start times will be scheduled in waves beginning at 9 a.m., entrants are welcome to choose to run with their family/friends, as well.

The race starts at Paine Cottage and goes south on North Avenue to City Hall. Registration is available online now at https://nycruns.com/races/?race=the-north-avenue-mile, or the morning of the race.

25 for adults, $15 for kids 18 and under
