In conjunction with the current exhibition, Treasures of the Earth: Mineral Masterpieces from the Robert R. Wiener Collection, the Bruce Museum is hosting a panel discussion on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 6:30-8 pm, featuring  a Connecticut mining expert, a gemologist, a diamond geologist, and a mineral dealer. Find out how minerals form, how they're mined and processed, and their many uses, from industrial applications to fine jewelry. This interactive discussion will include questions from the audience. Reception and open galleries at 6:30 pm, panel discussion at 7:00 pm. Reservations required. Bruce Museum Members and students with ID admitted free; nonmembers $10.
