The Innocents will be the final film in the 2017-2018 International Film Festival sponsored by the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers. It will be shown Friday, May 18, 7:30 p.m. at Maryknoll, 55 Ryder Road in Ossining. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.
The Innocents is a 2016 French and Polish film directed by Anne Fontaine. The film is about a young French Red Cross doctor in 1945 Poland who, while assisting survivors of the German Camps, discovers several nuns in advanced states of pregnancy.
The film festival provides nine monthly offerings on Friday evenings from September to May. The current series, Life through Death: The Old Verities & Truths of the Human Heart, includes an introduction by a Maryknoll missioner and a brief discussion after the screening.
