Jewish National Fund Hosts Annual Positively Israel Reception Featuring Bret Stephens
Join JNF for a Fun-filled Celebration of Israel@70
Jewish National Fund’s (JNF) 2nd Annual Positively Israel Reception is set for Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 7:30 pm, and promises to be an exciting evening with an enriching speaker, inspiring program, and a fun celebration of Israel@70. Guests are invited to Temple Israel Center (280 Old Mamaroneck Road, White Plains, NY 10605) to hear renowned New York Times op-ed columnist Bret Stephens speak about “Israel@70: What does the future hold for Israel and the Middle East?” The evening will also feature exclusive Israeli wine-tasting, delicious desserts, live music, raffle and auction prizes, and much more!
Stephens is the former deputy editorial page editor of the Wall Street Journal and the former editor-in-chief of The Jerusalem Post. He won a Pulitzer Prize for commentary in 2013 for his foreign affairs column in the Wall Street Journal, “Global View,” and published his first book, America in Retreat: The New Isolationism and the Coming Global Disorder, in 2014. “I look forward to speaking to the Westchester community about how the media portrays Israel and what the future holds for the Jewish State,” said Stephens.
The community-wide dessert and wine reception has a $36 couvert and will begin at 7:30 pm. There is a VIP dinner at 6:15 pm for donors who have given gifts of $1,800 or more to JNF’s 2018 campaign ($500+ for young families). The kosher dinner also includes a Q&A session with Bret Stephens and an exclusive VIP giveaway. The event co-chairs for this reception are Lissy and Ben Carr, Linda and Jonathan Flaxer, Jessica and Andrew Levinson, Five Synagogues of White Plains, and Israel Action Committee.
Reception attendees can also expect to learn about the vision of JNF, an organization of social and philanthropic entrepreneurs utilizing cutting-edge best practices to operate like a 21st century business, yet always staying focused on the target—our ancestral homeland and our Zionist mission. Through its partners and programs, JNF provides a unique voice in building a prosperous future for the land and people of Israel. JNF strives to bring an enhanced quality of life to all of Israel’s residents and translate these advancements to the world beyond. JNF is “greening” the desert with millions of trees, building thousands of parks across Israel, creating new communities and cities for generations of Israelis to call home, bolstering Israel’s water supply, helping develop innovative arid agriculture techniques, and educating both young and old about the founding and importance of Israel and Zionism.
Stephanie Risa Balkin, Director, Westchester County & Southern Connecticut, said, “We look forward to seeing familiar faces and welcoming new friends to our annual Positively Israel Reception. I’m proud to share the exciting work of Jewish National Fund and all that we have accomplished with the attendees.”
Registration for the reception is required via jnf.org/piwestchester or by contacting Stephanie Risa Balkin at email@example.com or 212.879.9300 x510.
