Description

“Recognizing the Youth Who Led the Way Toward Human Dignity -- From the Holocaust to Parkland”

The Peekskill Area Pastors Association, in cooperation with First Hebrew, will host a free interfaith dialogue focusing on examples of young people taking action in response to unresolved issues of human dignity.  The evening will include speaker Lore Strauss, a Youth Leader in the French Resistance during World War II, a clip from the movie “White Rose” depicting non-Jewish anti-Nazi teenagers, and a performance by renowned dance troupe GDX/God’s Disciples.  The “Never Again” slogan taken up by the Parkland High School students echoes the Holocaust remembrance, and young people are now turning their memorials into action.  Everyone is welcome to attend, no rsvp required.

The program takes place April 15 at 7 p.m., at First Hebrew Congregation, 1821 Main St., Peekskill, just west of Beach Center.  Info: 914-739-0500, rabbi@firsthebrew.org, www.firsthebrew.org.
