The Hendrick Hudson Free Library in Montrose is hosting a Grand Re-Opening of their newly renovated Children’s Room. Monday, October 9th will feature an official ribbon cutting ceremony followed by many free events for the whole family, a variety of vending trucks and a raffle for a handmade quilt.. 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Columbus Day with the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 12:30 p.m.
The free events for the day include Face Painting, Balloon Animals, a Child ID station, and several Bounce Castles for kids. Children's author Jerry Pinkney will be on hand signing his books which will be available for purchase. Vending Trucks will be offering all kinds of food including: Put Some Meat on Your Bones-grilled cheese, Firedogs-hot dogs, and Ice Cream. Each attendee at the event will receive a free ticket for either a Grilled Cheese sandwhich or a Hot Dog and one for ice cream treat. The library will also be raffling off a beautiful quilt that was handmade by library patrons who attended a special 4-part workshop at the library. The raffle tickets will be sold for $1 each or 6 for $5.
