For forty years, Magpie has raised their voices in support of the ongoing struggles for civil rights, freedom, justice, and peace. Formed in 1973 in Kent, OH, members Greg Artzner and Terry Leonino deliver powerful harmonies combined with guitar, mandolin, harmonica and mountain dulcimer. Magpie’s repertoire is a rainbow of traditional folk, classic country, swing, blues and music from the 1920’s to more contemporary material. The duo is well known for performing hard-hitting topical songs at festivals and in venues throughout the U.S. and beyond. Mapgie also presents programs at museums, schools, residency programs and for teacher training workshops where they demonstrate their methods for utilizing music effectively as a tool for early childhood education.Throughout their career, Magpie has devoted a tremendous amount of time, energy, and music to environmental causes, which makes them a great fit for Walkabout. Magpie has made eleven recordings. Learn more at www.MagpieMusic.com.
