What To Do

Death Cafe

Jul 18, 2019
07:30 PM until 09:00 PM

Everything you wanted to know about death and dying is up for discussion over coffee and other refreshments as the first of several Death Cafes is held in nearby Putnam Valley on July 18.

Death Café is actually an informal small group meeting.  There is no religious slant or expected outcome.  Participants can choose to discuss practical, philosophical or spiritual aspects.

Rabbi Dana Z. Bogatz, of First Hebrew, has facilitated more than 50 local Death Cafés during the past decade.  According to Rabbi Dana, the purpose is to increase awareness about death in order to make the most out of life.

There will be several more such meetings this year, all held at Reform Temple of Putnam Valley, 362 Church Rd., Putnam Valley.  Space is limited and RSVP is required.  There is no charge, but donations are encouraged to cover refreshment costs.  RSVP to rtpvrabbis@gmail.com.  For more information contact Rabbi Laurie Levy at 973-615 1943, or visit www.firsthebrew.org and www.deathcafe.com.
