Frank Foster Post, artist and drummer, integrates a pop sub-culture and energetic vibrancy into his works through his graphic characters and unabashed color layouts. The inspirations of listening to jazz and film soundtracks while creating his works are clearly conveyed through his visual interpretations. In addition to fine art pieces, Post’s art accolades have been widely recognized through decorative painting techniques and murals. After receiving a BS in Art Education from the State University College in Buffalo, Post worked as a musician in a dozen countries. He painted in his hotel room during the day and performed at night. Post next settled in a Chelsea loft for twelve years. He exhibited his work throughout the city. After his second daughter was born, Post moved to CT. He shows in local galleries as well as the Woodward Gallery, NYC.
Tom Hlas is an abstract painter who works primarily in acrylics and mixed media. His abstract work combined with conceptual titles allow the viewer to draw their own inspiration, meaning, and enjoyment from the work rather than be influenced by the artist's own underlying thoughts and feelings present when he created the work.
Hlas’s diverse educational experiences, ranging from a Bachelor degree in Vocal Music and postgraduate studies in philosophy and theology to on-the-job training in the marketing, graphic design and art reproduction world, have all colored his artistic work. He finds a kinship and inspiration in the abstract expressionists, color field painters, print makers, and minimalist artists of today. In both 2009 and 2010, he was awarded a one-month artist residency at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont.
Patrick James utilizes the simplicity of shapes combined with textural and color development into knock-out compositions of pattern.
As a longtime Fairfield County resident, James turned his self-taught artistry into a successful second career. He has sold many paintings through designers and collectors with recent projects consisting of nine paintings at the law offices of Perkins Coie in their new Rockefeller Center offices.
