9th Annual Juneteenth Parade and Celebration

Description

Hosted by the Peekskill Juneteenth Heritage Committee and the City of Peekskill, the 9th Annual Juneteenth Parade will begin at noon outside the historical Park Street AME Zion Church, followed by a celebration at the Riverfront Green until 8pm. The event, acknowledging 400 years of African Americans in America, features music, dance, art, crafts and food. The parade will be led by grand marshals Andrea Stewart-Cousins, NYS Senate Majority Leader; Rupert “Ted” Bitter, owner of the Bean Runner Cafe; and Wilfredo Morel, Director of Hispanic Health at Hudson River Healthcare and Executive Director of ARTS 10566.
