(914) Cares Fifth Annual Empty Bowls Westchester Event

Nov 17, 2019
05:00 PM until 08:00 PM

(914) Cares invites you to attend its fifth annual Empty Bowls Westchester event on Sunday November 17 from 5 pm to 8 pm at the Whippoorwill Club in Armonk, NY. Cost of tickets, $175.00. Join us as we raise much needed funds to support our local partners in the fight to end food insecurity in Westchester County. Guests will take home a hand painted bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world.

The Empty Bowls project is an international grassroots effort to raise both money and awareness in the fight to end hunger. According to the Westchester Food Bank, one in five residents are “food-insecure;” they don’t always have enough money to buy adequate nutritious food. The figure—based on population, income levels, and cost of living in Westchester—means approximately 200,000 people in Westchester county are hungry or at risk for hunger.

Celebrity signed bowls available to bid on this year include Carrie Underwood, Peter Frampton, James Taylor, who has also graciously donated a signed guitar, Bill and Hilary Clinton, Rachel Platten, Lin Manuel Miranda, Billy Joel, Paul Schaeffer, Rob Thomas and James Patterson, among others.

This year, we received a generous donation from our Diamond Sponsor, Whole Foods, as Empty Bowls received 5% of all sales in all four Westchester Whole Foods locations, on October 17.  All proceeds from Empty Bowls go to non-profits who feed the hungry across Westchester County.

(914) Cares supports neighbors in our community who struggle to meet basic human needs: food, clothing, shelter, education and medical care.  Their goal is to facilitate impactful interactions between members of the community and local charities, helping to broaden awareness of neighbors in the community that struggle with unmet needs. The organization helps our neighbors by assisting other Westchester-based non-profit agencies and through their own programs: Kids’ Kloset, Baby Bank and Donation Drives.
