Polpettina

Larchmont

Published:

The word “polpettina” means “little meatball” in Italian, which is apropos for the Eastchester location of Polpettina, which serves a modestly priced menu full of fabulous pizzas, meatballs, and pastas, but has tight quarters (and parking in the residential neighborhood is limited). That’s why it was so thrilling when owners Kyle Inserra and Michael Abruzese, a Yonkers native, opened a more expansive Larchmont sibling (in the space that once housed Espana), featuring an open kitchen, pressed tin ceiling, and playful wire-whisk light fixtures. Oh, and of course, this location features the same menu and adherence to locally sourced ingredients as the original; look for selections such as crispy eggplant chips with wildflower honey; black mission fig pizza with pancetta, goat cheese, arugula pesto, and truffle honey; and baked fusilli.

147 Larchmont Ave, Larchmont (914) 341-1460; www.polpettina.com; the original Polpettina is in Eastchester.
