Best New Westchester Restaurants of 2012

The Best and Brightest of Westchester’s Brand New Restaurants

What were the big stories of 2012? Pizza: indoors, outdoors, wood-fired, or grilled and served in bars. But 2012 also has seen new buzz in architectural landmarks with Farmer & the Fish, Club Car Restaurant-Lounge, and Hudson at Haymount House. And, continuing the past half-decade’s big trend, Westchester has drawn Manhattan celebrity chefs northward. This year, the county saw openings by Chefs Michael Psilakis and Shea Gallante, both recipients of Food & Wine’s coveted Best New Chef award. But the year’s biggest restaurant surprise actually is hooked to a Jeep. Like a hard-rocking, traveling bar band, The Cookery’s DoughNation pizza truck is rolling to a town near you.

Folks, we’re here to spare you time and calories. We’ve spent the last 10 months driving north to south, River to Sound, trying every new restaurant. The results are in: Here are Westchester Magazine’s Best New Restaurants of 2012.
