If you’re a caffeine fiend who feels the Starbucks or DD morning fix just doesn’t have the same kick it once did, there may be a solution in the offing.

In February, the self-proclaimed “world’s strongest coffee,” Death Wish, arrived on grocery-store shelves in Westchester. Founder Mike Brown of Round Lake, NY, says the basis of his superlative claim lies in the caffeine content, which is reportedly 200% more than in standard joe. But Brown’s other roast-boast is its flavor, which he says is derived from a blend of Robusta and Arabica beans sourced primarily from India and Peru.

Death Wish Coffee, which representatives say is committed to sustainability with USDA-approved processes that result in high-quality organic and fair-trade beans, enjoys a cult following that has seen it rise to Amazon’s No.1 seller in category. At press time, Death Wish Coffee was being sold at ShopRite locations in Scarsdale (955 Central Ave) and Croton-on-Hudson (460 S Riverside Dr), though additional locations are anticipated.
