Westchester’s 2013 Pet Contest: The 10 Cutest Pets in Westchester County

This year, six charismatic canines, two fascinating felines, a fine-feathered friend, and one swell member of the swine family round out our winner’s circle

A whopping 144 submissions—almost three times the number received for last year’s contest—came in when we put out the call for photos of your cutest pet family members late last year. And we’re proud to say our entry pool has gotten more diverse. While last year’s contest entrants included only dogs, cats, and a single horse, this year we received snaps of birds, turtles, guinea pigs, a rabbit, and a pig, in addition to plenty of cute canines and felines. Close to 1,170 votes later, we’re proud to present the 10 County pets with the most animal magnetism, a group that includes a few fortunate rescues from high-kill shelters elsewhere in the country and one special-needs Lab mix who’ll especially capture your heart. Thank you to all who entered and voted!

…And, while all our winners are supermodels worthy of a stroll on the (ahem) catwalk, only one can win top prize. After much spirited debate and conversation about what Tyra would do, our staff deemed Wesley, an energetic English Bulldog, the big winner. So, kudos to you, Wesley!
