Cajun/Creole Food Truck: Chef Johnson’s Johnson Truck at Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck

Beginning this month, you can get a fix of New Orleans cooking at Chef Johnson’s Johnson Truck at Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck Thursday through Sunday 11 am to 6 pm (914-488-4369; chefjohnson.com). On the menu: Creole lobster roll, jambalaya, seafood gumbo, andouille dog, shrimp and grits, and chili and mac-and-cheese combo. Most dishes are under $10. Johnson, a former chef at RJ’s Broadway Bar & Grill in Nyack, New York, and creator and host of public access TV program Up in Johnson’s Kitchen, outfitted a truck this past summer, turning it into a mobile Cajun/Creole kitchen with two burners, a flattop, a steam table, and a coffeemaker. He has one employee and preps some of his food out of a commercial kitchen in Mamaroneck. His dishes are also sold prepackaged at The Beer Necessities in New Rochelle.
