NYMC Supporters Celebrate

The New York Medical College’s Founders’ fundraiser drew some 330 guests to the acclaimed Cipriani in Manhattan. The black-tie gala, which raised more than $325,000 for the Valhalla-based college, honored several individuals for their contributions to medical education and healthcare leadership. “As the sole academic sciences center in the Hudson Valley region, New York Medical College has an important educational and healthcare mission to fulfill,” says NYMC’s President and CEO Karl P. Adler, MD. “The presence of so many friends at our fundraiser signals their belief in New York Medical College and their commitment to its success.”

Thompson & Bender
25-Year Anniversary Bash

Local pols past and present were out in droves at Thompson & Bender’s anniversary celebration at Restaurant 42 at the Ritz-Carlton. Dueling County Exec Rob Astorino and Board of Legislator chair Ken Jenkins traded good-natured barbs as they presented separate (but equal) proclamations. Also in attendance were former White Plains Mayor Joseph Delfino and Acting Mayor Thomas Roach (unseated Mayor Adam Bradley was not), former County Executives Al DelBello and Andy Spano, even former DA Jeanine Pirro made an appearance via slides played across the wall (ex-hubby Al showed up in person). We also spotter developer Louis Cappelli, Bill O'Shaughnessy of WVOX, Journal News columnist Phil Reisman, Main Street Connect Editor and Publisher Carll Tucker, and Don Scott, district director for freshman congresswoman Nan Hayworth. Guests noshed on baby lamb chops and sliders, slurped up ceviche and oysters, then moved on to the buffet with carving station before settling down in the dining room, drinking in the lights of the city.
