Restaurant Review: Antun’s of Westchester
Who wants to slave over the stove on a lazy Sunday morning? Instead, why not indulge in an omelet made especially as you like? Or treat yourself to smoked meats carved to your liking? How about some fresh fruit, perfectly brewed coffee and, perhaps, even some champagne? Antun’s of Westchester offers Sunday brunch for those who’d rather eat than cook on their day off.
As you step inside the spacious and inviting mansion-like building, you can’t help but notice the large fireplace in the entryway. But in warm weather, enjoy your champagne brunch on the patio surrounded by green trees and lovely flowers. Then help yourself to the buffet set out on groaning boards, sure to satisfy even the pickiest diners.
Fresh-from-the-oven muffins, raisin bread and warm bagels should whet your appetite for the scrambled eggs, sausage and well-seasoned and flavorful homestyle potatoes. The carving station offers smoked ham and roast beef. Or indulge in a freshly prepared waffle—choose whipped cream, maple syrup or strawberries to top it. The crêpes are another treat worth sampling, for which you can choose your own filling.
Really hungry? Lasagna and fried chicken are but some of the more substantial buffet items.
Odds are you won’t be able to resist visiting the Viennese table laden with desserts—sweet carrot cake, rich cheesecake, decadent chocolate torte. Try any. Or try the chocolatey brownies, refreshing Jell-O parfait and a variety of cookies. Fill your plate with the luscious fresh fruit. Then relax, have another cup of coffee, and enjoy your Sunday off.
