Professional Path: Grew up working in the family business – an Army Navy store. Attended Clark University in Worcester, Mass., “and got a progressive education.” Pursued acting in New York City.
Why Westchester: “Where else can you kayak on the Hudson in the a.m., be in the city for a meeting and theatre in the evening. Good schools; strong community; engaged, smart and spirited friends and neighbors; and great fresh food from the local farmer’s markets.”
Most Valuable Resources: WPO: Women Presidents’ Organization, Business Council of Westchester, the Ossining Green Committee “and the  Blueberry Pond Theatre Co., where I have opportunities to perform.”
Lessons Learned: “The ones that cross over into every aspect of business are the ones that include developing personal relationships and generously sharing information and contacts with fellow business people. The more you give, the more you get.”
Secret to Success: “Being patient, enjoying the ride … and partnering with the organizations and businesses I want to support and ‘play’ with. It’s got to be fun.”
Rewarding Moments: Received “Entrepreneurial Success Award” from The Business Council of Westchester, featured in Time Magazine, invited for a spread in Glamour, products featured on Oprah.
What’s Next: “Expanding our core business in reusable, durable goods and expanding the conversation to include new and innovative products that reduce the amount of waste that’s created and goes into landfills.”
