Q. My teeth are so worn down, I can barely see them. I used to have such nice long teeth and now my face looks caved in. What can I do?
“Sometimes wear on teeth can be so severe that the front teeth become hard to see and the back teeth become so short that it collapses the lower third of the face. These extreme cases can be addressed with full mouth reconstruction, which involves crowning the back teeth at a new taller height (opening the bite), usually similar to the height of your original teeth. This allows room to add length to the front teeth, making them visible past the edge of the upper lip. The new teeth also can restore the missing face support and help correct the collapsed look many older patients acquire from years of wear.”

Q. What makes your practice in the treatment of venous disorders unique?
“The importance of having venous disorders treated by a physician with extensive training and experience can’t be overstated. For example, in addition to Vascular Fellowship training and Board Certification in Surgery and Phlebology (the subspecialty exclusive to Vein conditions), my credentials include 25 years of experience in treating the full spectrum of venous disorders — personally treating thousands of patients while performing all diagnostic tests and procedures. Additionally, as a Founding Member of one of the first 15 facilities of minimally invasive research institutions to develop, teach, and train other physicians in the use and evaluation of new surgical technologies and techniques, I remain involved in cutting-edge advancements in this field. A successful final outcome not only relieves symptoms, but creates an aesthetically pleasing leg. The large number of patients referred through friends, family members, and co-workers — all former patients — is a testament to their satisfaction.”

Q. Are there any new advanced services or products that help your skin appear more youthful?
“Last year, Massage Envy locations nationwide introduced a new category of skincare services — PCA SKIN® chemical peels and Microderm InfusionTM, advanced skincare treatments that deliver noticeable and long-lasting results. In May of this year, we are adding Neck & Décolleté Treatments that can be paired with any of our existing skincare services — a facial, PCA SKIN® chemical peel or Microderm InfusionTM. Those treatments address often forgotten area of neck and décolleté, which can be just as exposed to the elements as the face. "

Q. What can I do to get my skin in the best possible shape for summer?
“This winter was tricky — warmer than usual with a few cold blasts in between. In the end, our skin paid the price. Now is the time to gift your skin with a little TLC and get ready to show it off! Come to Oasis Day Spa to get your skin ‘summertime ready.’ Start with a full-body scrub to remove dry, winter skin, and hydrate the skin. Then follow with a relaxing aromatherapy massage (paired with the heavenly hand and foot treatment), and finish with an Elemis BIOTEC facial, which pairs hands-on touch, state-of-the-art technology, and uber-active ingredients for the most effective and luxurious treatment available. You’ll leave feeling refreshed, revitalized, and ready for summertime fun!”

Q. Is CoolSculpting the right treatment for me?
“CoolSculpting is a non-invasive alternative to Liposuction, an ideal solution for anyone who is unable to lose fat no matter how much they diet or exercise. Our practice is among the very few in Westchester to operate the latest-generation machines. With these applicators, the treatment time is reduced to only 35 minutes per site and is more effective. We can treat successfully any fat deposit in both women and men. The treatments are pain free and everyone can return to their normal activities immediately post treatment. The results are permanent and generally one session is sufficient to achieve the desired effect.”

Q. Why should I see an oculoplastic surgeon for cosmetic eyelid surgery rather than a plastic surgeon?
“Plastic surgeons train in all parts of the body, including the breasts, abdomen, face, and eyes. Oculoplastic surgeons, such as myself, have extensive training in both ophthalmology and plastic surgery. We focus primarily on the anatomy of the eyelid and consider the functional condition of the eye after surgery. Due to the proximity of the eye to the brain, this is extremely important. Patients can also develop medical conditions such as ectropion, where the eyelid turns out, or eyelid retraction, where the eyelid can’t close if eye function is not being checked during the surgery as oculoplastic surgeons do. Make sure your oculoplastic surgeon is an accredited fellow of ASOPRS, an organization with strict research, testing, and training requirements.”

Q. I recently heard the term "feminine rejuvenation." What IS that?
“Feminine rejuvenation is at an all-time high. It commonly refers to the use of an energy device to stimulate collagen for a 'tightening' effect of the vagina (think smooth 'shrink wrap'!). This can reduce excess or asymmetric skin and increase sensation. It may also improve dryness and mild urine leakage. I use the FDA-approved Votiva system, which is a noninvasive, non-hormonal option with barely any pain or downtime. As a gynecologist, I focus exclusively on these conditions and am happy to tailor a treatment for you!”
