October is breast cancer awareness month, and Westchester businesses are sure to bring light to the cause. Throughout the month, there will be several events and offers to take advantage of that will raise awareness and contribute to the cause.
Making Strides of Westchester is an event that unites over 300 communities in an effort to raise money and awareness to help the American Cancer Society save lives from breast cancer. The walk, which takes place on Sunday, October 18, at 9:30 am, is one of the largest networks of breast cancer awareness events in the United States, and is a noncompetitive three-to-five mile circuit. By donating or volunteering, you are helping the American Cancer Society provide free comprehensive information and support for breast cancer survivors as well as fund breast cancer research.
On October 11, Shear Pleasure Hair Design in New Rochelle will host its first Cut-for-the-Cure event.
