Business ethics at the forefront.

Published:

This past fall, Concordia College introduced an MS in Business Leadership Degree Program. The idea is to turn students into dynamic leaders who are excellent decision-makers, communicators, and entrepreneurs. The program also focuses on integrating moral and social responsibility into the workplace. Says Dean of Education and Business William Salva, Ed.D, “This program fills a void in the region, as it includes a timely emphasis on ethics in business.”

Understanding many students can’t afford to take time off from work to complete their higher-level education, Concordia designed its program to be flexible. Each term is eight weeks, with students taking on-campus classes Friday evenings and Saturdays, and online courses whenever it is convenient for them. Concordia also aims to make the program open to a wide population. There are no prerequisite courses; students do not pay for textbooks; and they can complete the program in one year. Salva explains, “The program is cutting-edge, affordable, and very convenient for working professionals.”

Concordia also aims to place students in meaningful jobs after they complete the degree. All courses are taught by executives, management professionals, seasoned instructors, and mentors who “share [personal] experiences from the corner office,” says Salva. And students work individually and in groups to complete timely and challenging projects they might encounter in the real world.
