The Ashley Cregier and Adam Fortin Wedding

It was a peacock-themed affair for Ashley and Adam, which was so brilliantly incorporated into every aspect of their wedding day.
The couple met in Stamford at the Crabshell restaurant one summer evening five years ago, where, after much persistence on Adam’s part, he convinced Ashley to give him a chance.
After dating for four years, Adam brought Ashley back to that fated spot where they met for a Valentine’s Day proposal that truly took her by surprise.
When looking for their ideal wedding location, two things were of the utmost importance to them; being on the water, and having their cocktail hour outside on a patio where they can take best advantage of that view.
So, after a traditional ceremony at St. Mary’s of the Assumption in Katonah they continued the celebrations at the scenic Greentree County Club in New Rochelle.
Ashley used her meticulous skills and attention to detail from being an elementary school teacher to help her individualize everything from her handmade place cards—each neatly tied with interchanging turquoise and gold bows—to designing custom invitations with the help of a designer on Etsy.com.
Peacock feathers had always been a favorite of Ashley’s, and she seamlessly weaved this theme into her bridesmaids’ bouquets, hairpins, and overall attire.
The groomsmen were also in keeping with this theme, wearing white roses with a peacock feather on their lapel, while the groom wore a deep purple calla lily with a peacock feather. Ashley says she “wanted everything to match the theme, but not be too overpowering."
For favors the couple decided upon a “cute, brocaded picture frame with our monograms AA from Kate Aspen,” she says. Inside each frame, Ashley created a custom note personalized to each guest inviting him or her to enjoy the photo booth.
The overall feel for the day was that of richness and boldness (like that of the peacock feather). The only non-peacock part of the affair was Ashley, who stood out exceptionally in her Champagne-colored strapless beaded ball gown, which she “never wanted to take off." Ashley’s mother loaned her a diamond tennis bracelet to wear as her “something borrowed,” which she paired with a luscious pair of multi-colored, beaded Swarovski drop earrings that were a wedding gift from a close friend.
But despite all the glitz and glamour of the day, the most amazing part of this blushing bride’s experience was realizing that “what I visualized came out exactly how I wanted."
