Designed by Lawrence McRae, this bowl is hand-thrown with low-fire earthenware. After curing for several days, it is smoothed and prepped for carving. Each perforation is tooled, carved, and cleaned several times. After a bisque firing, it is glazed and fired a final time. Dishwasher and food safe; “Ruth Bowl,” $258 at Table D'Hote (4 MacDonald Ave, Armonk, 914-273-4049, www.tabledhoteny.com)
