Music Diva, Record Executive Mogul, Coming to Scarsdale

Martha Stewart. Richard Gere. Meredith Vieira. The Clintons. Our county certainly has its share of famous face residents. We can now add two more to the list: the newlyweds (they married April 4, 2008) singer Beyoncé Knowles and music industry impresario Jay-Z. The couple, listed on Time Magazine's 100's Most Influential People of 2006, are building a home in Scarsdale.

While the exact location is not confirmed, all sources point to 15 Heathcote Road. The contemporary Colonial rising there (the previous structure was razed) is around 15,000 square feet on approximately two acres. Davenport Contracting of Stamford, CT, is the builder.

It’s not the largest house in the neighborhood, but this is Scarsdale. A neighboring house, 17 Heathcote Road, a 7 BR, 12,000 square foot Colonial on 4 acres is for sale at $16,850,000.
The median home value in the nearby Heathcote/Heath Ridge section of the village is $1,703,000.

Knowles, 27, a native of Houston, was the second highest paid musician from 2007 to 2008 with earnings of $80 million.

Brooklyn-born Jay-Z (née Shawn Corey Carter), 39, is the former CEO  of Def Jam Recordings  and Roc-A-Fella Records. He co-owns The 40/40 Club sports bar chain and the New Jersey Nets.

Keep in mind lookie loos: there’s a sliver of a sidewalk on the westbound side of Heathcote, but please, no trespassing!

This is great news. Fortunately everyone is not starving to death during this depression/recession. May they be blessed with health , wealth and wisdom throughout life. Keep hope alive! (peace sign )

Ever since purchasing a condo at 10 Stewart Place in White Plains in 1999 (and seeing an approximately 300% rise in value over the subsequent years), John Bruno Turiano has been in love with real estate. His idea of an exciting Saturday night is watching a marathon of Flip this House.

He also sleeps with the New York Times Real Estate section under his pillow.
