This 11-room Cape Cod set on over two-and-a-half acres offers lots of unexpected surprises including nearly 5,000 square feet of living space, a professional grade chef’s kitchen, wood-paneled study, two fireplaces, ten-foot ceilings, and architectural details that deliver interesting nooks and angles, custom crown moldings and trim, and spectacular reservoir views. “This L-shaped house has a very sophisticated layout—it’s an entertainer’s delight,” says listing agent Hope Mazzola. “It overlooks the water with doors from nearly every room leading to the patios outside. The oversized kitchen, living room, and dining room are designed perfectly to accommodate large parties comfortably.” The home’s unique design also boasts a main-floor master bedroom suite with a luxurious master bath and a two-bedroom suite with its own separate living room on the other side. Two of the home’s five bedrooms are in a separate guest wing that may be a better configuration for older than younger children, but has the potential to be connected through a hallway upstairs. When the LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester asked Facebook fans to vote for the Westchester and New York City landmarks they most wanted immortalized in LEGO bricks, the response was loud and clear—the historic Lyndhurst gothic estate overlooking the Hudson River in Tarrytown tied with the iconic Grand Central Terminal for the top spot. As a result, both landmarks will be built entirely from LEGO blocks and featured in the Miniland exhibit when the LEGO family attraction, featuring more than three million LEGO bricks, opens at Ridge Hill in Yonkers on March 29. In addition to Lyndhurst and Grand Central Terminal, landmark contenders included Statue of Liberty, Yankee Stadium, Washington Irving’s Sunnyside, the George Washington Bridge, Rockefeller Plaza, the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building and Citi Field.
