Ninth Annual American Heart Association Go Red for Women Luncheon

The American Heart Association held its ninth annual Go Red for Women Luncheon at the Hyatt Greenwich earlier this month. More than 750 women attended the luncheon and Food Network Chef Anne Burrell host of the Food Network series, Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, entertained the crowd.. Burrell answered questions from Twitter and Facebook fans on heart health and diet. The half-day wellness event included morning educational breakout sessions, an interactive heart check-up and a silent auction. Suzanne Steinbaum, MD, attending cardiologist and the Director of Women and Heart Disease at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, received the first AHA “Woman of Heart” Award.“ Cardiovascular disease kills more women than the next four causes of death combined, including all forms of cancer,” said Maria Freburg, Go Red Luncheon Chair.
