04/27/09Aged, Small Batch-Bourbons at Pour
Time was, Salvation Army types with tambourines and good intentions got the whole nation riled up and they actually passed a constitutional amendment against booze! As a nation, we came to our senses in 1933 and realized that Prohibition was just dullsville, baby—plus, we’d been turning our backs on our heritage. We’re Americans; our Founding Fathers left respectable countries to grow demon tobacco and get filthy rich in a lawless country, perhaps enjoying a snort or two with their chattel-cum-mistresses. 04/20/09Le Moulin, Irvington's Best Kept Secret

New Yorkers have long gloated about their Magnolia Bakery cupcakes, but now Westchester residents can join in the fun with the arrival of Flour & Sun Bakery in Pleasantville. The first and only cupcake bakery in Westchester, Flour & Sun has become an instant hit, serving up freshly-made batches of these addictive desserts. The bakery is the brainchild of Denise Treco, Director of Marketing at the Jacob Burns Film Center, just down the street. A longtime cupcake baker for her fellow film buffs, she pounced on the Washington Avenue space when it became available, painting the interior a bright and sunny yellow and decorating the walls with cupcake photos. Most of the business is grab-and-go, but there are chairs at the front counter for those who prefer to linger with... Posted at 12:33 PM | Permalink | Comments: 0 |
