Now that I’ve got your attention, it’s Oktoberfest time, when usually uptight German people gather together at communal tables, sing songs, and listen to oompah bands. Here are some outdoor beer events to make autumn more welcome.

The Peekskill Brewery’s Third Annual Birthday Bash

Look for music by The Jukebox Romantics, Phineas & the Lonely Leaves, and others; also snacks, face painting, local vendors, pumpkin decorating, and more. Visitors must be 21 years old to enter the beer tent, where 15 breweries will be pouring. Look for Captain Lawrence, Dogfish Head, Brooklyn Brewery, Kelso, and others.
