Port Chester's T&J Reopens in a Larger Space
The family-owned restaurant is excited to expand into a new space, with ample parking available, a party space, and an outdoor patio

In an age where a dish’s ability to go viral and a vibrant social media presence are two indicators of a successful restaurant, it’s nice to see that family joints are still in style. Case in point: T&J, which opened in Port Chester in 1990 and just moved to a new, larger space at 10 Pearl Street this month. “Our family has been in the food business since the 1950s,” says co-owner John Ruggiero. “We’re excited to continue the tradition at our new location."
At the grand opening on November 9, County Executive Rob Astorino, still hoarse from election night, called the new T&J the “perfect place for Trump, Clinton, and Obama to break bread.” True, it’s hard to imagine them fighting surrounded by framed photos of the owners’ children and grandchildren, while sharing rice balls, crispy-edged lasagna, and plates of chicken scarp.
In addition to the cavernous main dining room, the new location also includes a separate pickup area for pizza, an outside patio, and a party space for private events on the fifth floor. There’s also parking (a Port Chester rarity) at the Neri’s lot across the street.
“We’re able to offer our friends and customers the same great food at the same great prices,” says Ruggiero. Even in new digs, some things never change.
