5 Meatballs That Are Here to Ruin Your Meatless Monday
Sorry (not sorry), but these meatball dishes are totally #WorthIt.
Fried Meatballs at Fortina
17 Maple Ave, Armonk; 914.273.0900
136 S Ridge St, Rye Brook; 914.937.0900
1086 N Broadway, Yonkers; 914.358.3595
Crunchy is now a word we associate with meatballs after falling in love with the nostalgic fried meatballs — they remind us of swiping one from grandma’s house on Sunday morning — showered in Parmesan cheese at Fortina. The mini veal meatballs in the baked paccheri with vodka sauce ain’t half bad, either.
This sandwich just cracked my top 10 all time list. Now that’s considered elite territory folks, I’m generally very particular when it comes to my sandwiches. I go into each deli with a purpose, and I want to make sure the sandwich is done right. I wasn’t content with marinara, so I added vodka sauce. The vodka sauce was the unanimous mvp, but let’s not downplay the presence of those beautiful beef meatballs. Every element of the sandwich was perfected. It doesn’t get much better than this, ladies and gentleman. . . . Pro tip: Order “The Stoli” (a hot seller), which is chicken parm w/ vodka sauce. Ya can’t go wrong with either one, just depends on your mood! . . . #nyc #buzzfeedfood #food #foodbeast #foodporn #foodphotography #instafood #follow #foodie #foodoftheday #foodies #eeeeeats #mangiawithmatteo #cheese #meatball #parm #sandwich #vodka #sauce #mozzarella
Meatball Parm With Vodka Sauce at Buon Amici Delicatessen
830 Scarsdale Ave, Scarsdale; 914.723.5844
For a county that’s pretty into meatballs, finding a great meatball parm sandwich can be a real challenge. Enter Buon Amici which is hitting all the right notes with tender beef meatballs, plenty of melty mozzarella, tangy vodka sauce, and sturdy, crusty rolls to soak it all up.

“Inside Out” Meatballs at tredici NORTH
578 Anderson Hill Rd, Purchase; 914.997.4113
Think stuffed meatballs are just some kind of gimmick? Think again. At tredici NORTH, Chef Giuseppe Fanelli’s panko-crusted, beef-pork-and-veal-blend meatballs are every bit as tender and comforting at grandma’s with the added bonus of a melty ricotta-and-mozzarella filling.
Heirloom Meatballs at The Cookery
39 Chestnut St, Dobbs Ferry; 914.305.2336
There’s something counterintuitive about the not-exactly-round meatballs at The Cookery, which manage to be rich and comforting, yet also feather light and tender. A generous slick of tomato sauce, a little cheese, and some fresh herbs is pretty much all they need.
Chicken Meatballs at Polpettina
102 Fisher Ave, Eastchester; 914.961.0061
147 Larchmont Ave, Larchmont; 914.341.1460
Polpettina translates to “little meatball,” and with a name that meatball-centric, it’s no surprise that all of the options are worth an order. What is surprising is how much we enjoy these light, clean, Asian-inspired chicken meatballs with sesame-soy jus, pickled carrots, and scallions.
