Breaking News: Chef Michael Psilakis Brings MP Taverna to Irvington, Wine & Food Weekend Update (FREE Beer Bash Tix!), Antonio Galloni at Tarry Wine, and Olive Oil Cake at Red Barn Bakery

So, guess where we spent our morning? Hauling butt down to the River to meet rocket-hot Chef Michael Psilakis at 9:30 (in the a.m.!) at the new site for MP Taverna: 1 Bridge St, Irvington. All the chefs that’ll be preparing the food for the evening met this morning to strategize about who would cook what (and in which order).  Having looked at the Ritz-Carlton’s kitchen set up, I kinda wish I could step into my clogs and lend a hand.  Because guess what? This kitchen has two actual plate conveyor belts! (Sadly, I was on the job, so I couldn’t get caught pushing random buttons to see how they...

HV Restaurant Week, Great Upcoming Wine Dinners, and Crabtree Kittle House’s “Retro Menu”

I’ve never been a blind booster and pom-poms don’t do it for me; at high school pep rallies, I was always the Gitanes-smoking conscientious objector dressed all in black. (I’m actually not proud of that.) So when it comes to Restaurant Week, whether Hudson Valley or New York, I always feel like a traitor when I suggest that, as great as it is, there are some downsides.
