The Quiet Man Public House in Peekskill

15 N Division St
(914) 930-8230;

Cuisine: Traditional Irish/American
Prices: $12-$20 for entrées; most specials are $20+

What better way to start than with house-made Irish soda bread and a Guinness? The Quiet Man offers European pints (20 oz, not the American 16 oz) and a self-serve Guinness tap table for eight (by reservation only).

Appetizer sampler: Mozzarella balls, chicken wings, chicken tenders, Irish spring rolls (house-made corned beef plus sauerkraut and Swiss cheese), and sausage rolls (house-made Irish sausage fried in puff pastry)

Next up: Sliders come with fried fish or pulled pork and coleslaw.

The quintessential beef stew, an Irish dining staple.

Guinness mussels and grilled garlic bread (above, right. Noticing a pattern here with the Guinness?)

Lamb chop special

Top it all off with bread pudding for dessert.
